One Man, Two Guvnors

by Richard Bean

January 17 - February 11, 2024

In 1963 Brighton, out-of-work skiffle player Francis Henshall (Dustin Tucker) becomes separately employed by two men – Roscoe Crabbe, a gangster, and Stanley Stubbers, an upper class twit. Francis tries to keep the two from meeting, in order to avoid each of them learning that Francis is also working for someone else. Over-the-top and wildly funny, a perfect antidote to the winter blues.

…a load of laughs…a major comedic treat…an impressive cast of local favorites and new faces… two hours of fast-paced fun. Francis is a character made for [Dustin] Tucker’s comedic skills.” - Portland Press Herald

Run Time: approximately 2 hours 5 minutes

  • Molly (she/her) is tickled to be working with Good Theater for the first time and couldn't be happier to be a part of this ridiculous production. She has been stomping the boards of the Greater Portland theatre for more years than it's polite to ask about, thank you very much, but most recently reprised the role of Maria in the Fenix production of Twelfth Night, A Holiday Musical. She hopes you enjoy this romp and it inspires much knee-slapping.

  • Daniel Cuff is thrilled to be making his debut at Good Theater in One Man, Two Guvnors! Born and raised on Martha’s Vineyard, he found a love for the stage at the Vineyard Playhouse in shows such as The Homecoming and The Whaleship Essex. He then moved to NYC where this love was promptly smothered, and all the fun parts ripped away and drowned in the Hudson River. But like a horrible, yet beautiful Creature from the Black Lagoon, this love has risen from the depths and has now come to find itself thriving in the Portland theater scene. Many thanks to all the cast and crew, and especially Brian Allen and Sally Wood for giving me a shot!
